6. Jainism
This religion is prevalent all over India even though their number is less than Buddhism but it is spread all over India. Whereas people of Buddhism are found only in the eastern states of India. Jain religion was also established in India and more number of them are in India. About 42.25 lakh people follow Jainism in India.
7. Zoroastrianism
Zoroastrianism is believed to have been founded in the 6th century BC. Its founder is Mahatma Zarathustra, hence it is also called Zaratushtri religion. More number of them are present in India only, which according to 2011 census is about 70 thousand, they also live in other countries of the world.
Overall, there are seven major religions in India, which have the largest number. Apart from this, about 7 lakh people of India are atheists, meaning these people do not believe in any religion.
