He was raised as a Hindu and still identifies himself as one. When he was in school, he suffered from right-sided ptosis, which caused a lazy eye as a child. He started performing comedy while working as a mathematics teacher. In March 2014, he began presenting Newsjack on Radio 4 Extra. In the same year, he also appeared on the show The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice. Moreover, Romesh has been a guest on several episodes of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
